ABOUT ABOUT

Join Dr. Michele Perni for a presentation on cutting-edge therapeutic approaches for neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, exploring the journey from academic research to biotech and clinical applications with novel strategies inspired by shark biology. Afterward, the Culinary Literary Center will demonstrate a healthy salad dish designed to improve body and brain health.

About the Organizers: This event is a collaboration with the Italian Scientists & Scholars in North American Foundation, of which Dr. Perni is a member. Dr. Perni holds a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Neurobiology from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, UK. He worked for a decade at the University of Cambridge, where he was a team leader and a founding member of Wavebreak Tx, focusing on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s drug discovery. In 2023, Dr. Perni moved to the US to become a founding member and Director of R&D and BD at Baz Therapeutics, an early-stage startup in Philadelphia that focuses on natural compounds for healthy aging.
